What the Archive records — and why.

We keep the data needed to operate orders and accounts securely. Optional analytics helps us understand which books and pages readers actually use.

Essential operations & security

Account login, cart, checkout, fraud/abuse prevention and owner-console audit logs can use technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, timestamps and security events.

These records are not used to guess the identity of anonymous visitors.

Optional analytics

With analytics enabled, we assign this browser a random visitor ID and can record page views, product views, add-to-cart events, checkout starts, referrals and device/browser type.

If a visitor arrives from an advertising link, first-touch campaign parameters such as UTM values or Google Ads click identifiers (for example GCLID/GBRAID/WBRAID) can also be stored with that consented visitor session so we can measure whether advertising led to registration, promo claims, checkout or orders.

The random ID is linked to an account only after the visitor signs in, or to an order after the visitor provides their details during checkout.

Names and personal details

We do not infer a person's name from an IP address or device. A name appears in our internal activity tools only when the person has supplied it through an account or order.

Retention

Raw consent-based activity is configured for approximately 90 days. Security/audit records are configured for approximately 180 days. Non-personal daily totals may be retained longer.
